Vipers SC are now one win away from winning the Uganda Premier league title this season following their 2-0 win over Gaddafi FC on Wednesday at the St.Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.

Cesar Manzoki scored in either half as the Venoms moved 14 points clear over second placed KCCA FC who drew 1-1 with BUL FC at the Kyabazinga Stadium.

A win over 2020/21 Uganda Premier league champions Express in their next game on 29th April will secure a fifth title for the Kitende based side.

Manzoki gave the hosts the lead in the 11th minute for his 15 goal of the season.

Hillary Mukundane acrobatically came close to doubling the Venoms lead but his effort went inches wide.

Milton Karisa also had a decent chance but his header off a Allan Kayiwa cross went over the bar.

The Venoms pressure finally paid off in stoppage time when Manzoki tapped in a well Denis Mwemezi quality cross for his 16th league goal of the campaign.

Vipers are now on 61 points and 14 above second placed KCCA FC whereas Gaddafi stay 11th with 28 points just four points from the red zone.
