Maroons aggravate UPDF’s misery with 4-2 comeback



Maroons FC registered a 4-2 comeback win over UPDF FC on Friday at Luzira Prisons ground.

Victory saw the Prison side end their first round campaign on high in a six goal thriller.

Faridi Rashid had given the visitors the lead in the 9th minute before Edward Kabona levelled matters in the 24th minute.

Fred Amaku gave the home side the lead in added time of the first period.

Maroons captain David Ndihabwe extended their lead in the 59th minute with a deflected effort.

Faridi cut the deficit for the Army side with his second goal of the day in the 64th minute.

With five minutes to normal time, Abel Eturude ended UPDF FC’s hopes for a comeback with the fourth goal for the hosts.

Maroons moved to third place with 28 points while UPDF FC ended the first round second from the bottom with just 9 points.
