Vipers SC missed a chance to move to the top of the Uganda Premier league table after a 1-1 stalemate away to Maroons on Wednesday.

Fred Amaku scored for Prison Warders while skipper Milton Karisa struck for the Venoms.

Maximum points against Maroons could have sent Vipers to the summit of the UPL log.

Amaku gave the home side the lead in the 33rd minute of the contest.

The visitors levelled matters through their captain Karisa six minutes after the recess.

The two sides had to settle for a point at Luzira though the Venoms missed a chance to leapfrog current table leaders BUL FC.

Vipers are now two points below BUL FC whom they next host on Friday, 22nd at Kitende.

Maroons on the other hand are 6th on the log with 19 points as 5th placed SC Villa.
