High rated goalkeeper Emmanuel Were Derrick will feature for Gomba Lions in the forthcoming Masaza Cup tournament, Swift Sports understands.
Were is expected to be an integral figure in Gomba’s search for their record fifth Masaza Cup title this year.
Were played for Ssingo who were eliminated on the quarter final round stage last year.

He has won the Masaza Cup championship on three occasions, twice with Ssingo (2015 and 2018) and once at Buddu in 2016.
Were was instrumental at Uganda Christian University (UCU) as they won the 2019 Pepsi University Football League and the AUUS trophy at University of Kisubi.
He was named both the MVP and best goalkeeper of the Pepsi University League last year.
The youthful custodian has also previously featured for Kiyinda Boys,Kiboga Young, Blessed Sacrament Kimanya and Risah Standard High among others.
Gomba will be under the tutelage of Ibrahim Kirya as their head coach, Kizito “Deman Denol” Dennis, Mubarak Kiberu and Felix Kawooya Ssekabuza.
The Masaza Cup is expected to kick off next month if all goes well.
