Matia Lule replaces Basena at Ihefu SC

Tanzanian side Ihefu SC has appointed Ugandan coach Matia Lule as assistant coach.

The tactician joins the technical staff that has former Uganda Cranes goalkeeping coach Fred Kajoba.

It is also a former home for Moses Basena who was sacked after 50 days in charge last year.

Basena who had replaced Zuber Katwila in October last year was sacked after 50 days in charge of the club.

Basena only managed six games and registered three draws and lost the other three games.

Lule has been unemployed since his departure another Tanzanian side Singida in September last year. He was serving as assistant coach.

The former Express FC and Proline FC head coach will work with Kajoba who serves as Goalkeeping coach at Ihefu SC.

Besides Express and Proline FC, Lule has also managed at KCCA FC, URA FC and Entebbe FC.

He also served as the Uganda U-17 national team (Hippos) head coach and later worked as assistant coach for the senior team (Uganda Cranes) under the Sebastien Desabre.

As Desabre’s assistant they guided the Cranes to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt and CHAN tournament hosted by Morocco.
