Eastern regional league side Mbale Heroes has defeated Kampala regional league club NEC FC 1-0 in a round of 32 encounter of the Stanbic Uganda Cup at the Sansiro grounds in Mbale City.
James Mubeezi scored the all important goal that sent the Simon Ddungu coached side into the round of 16.
Mubeezi headed home perfectly from a corner kick delivered by Ivan Wako in the 25th minute of the game.
10 minutes before the goal, Mbale Heroes missed a penalty through Fahad Nsamba who effort was saved by goalkeeper Okirya Michael.

The home side held on to win the encounter and joined UPDF FC, Wakiso Giants, Ndejje University and Iganga Young as the teams that have already sealed berths in the last 16.
