Mbarara City aim to end 12 match winless run as BUL FC visit

Mbarara City will be seeking to improve their relegation survival chances as they host BUL FC at Kakyeka Stadium in the only game to be played on Monday.

The Ankole Lions are in the 15th position (second from bottom) on the table of 16 with only 18 points from 22 games.

Their opponents BUL FC on the other hand have managed to collect 37 points from the same number of games which puts them in the fourth position.

Both sides come in this tie having played to stalemates in their previous games.

Mbarara City FC played to a goalless draw against Express FC at Kakyeka while BUL FC rallied to salvage a 1-1 draw with Busoga United in the Jinja derby at Kakindu Stadium.

The previous nine meetings between both sides have seen each side win thrice and the other three also ending in draws.

The hosts will miss out Defenders Karim Ramathan and Soulaymane Bamba alongside striker Jude Ssemugabi due to respective injuries.

BUL will also be without striker Karim Ndugwa due to accumulated yellows and goalkeeper Saidi Keni who is injured.

Ndugwa has scored six goals in all competitions since joining BUL in the January transfer window.

James Magala one of Alex Isabirye’s assistants says they can pick maximum points despite not having enough recovery time from the previous encounter,

“It will be a tough game having had no recovery time from the previous game but the boys are ok and we are to our best to win the game.” Magala says as quoted by the club media.

Victory will take Mbarara City to 21 points and move a position above.

BUL FC will also remain fourth in case of victory but can go to 40 points, seven below table leaders Vipers SC.
