Patrick Mbowa salvaged a point for Vipers in the Uganda Premier league game against SC Villa on Friday under the floodlights of St.Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.
In the 7th minute, Gavin Kizito gave the visitors the lead from close range for his first goal since returning to SC Villa.
Before Kizito’s goal, Yunus Sentamu had a golden opportunity to fire the home side into the lead but his volley went over the bar.
Bright Anukani had his effort from the free kick tipped over by SC Villa goalkeeper Norman Angufindru midway into the first period.

Early in the second half, Umar Lutalo had a decent chance to double the visitors lead but his effort went inches over the bar.
Debutant Erick Kenzo Kambale failed to hit the back of the net with the goal at his disposal but the Congolese fired wide.
With the visitors on course for maximum points, their former player Mbowa levelled matters in the 78th minute after Angufindru failed to deal with a Karim Watambala corner kick.
The two sides settled for a point that takes Vipers to 8 points while Villa are on 5 points.
Vipers next travel to Soltilo Bright Stars on Friday, 27th October.
SC Villa next host leaders BUL FC on Tuesday, 24th October at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku.
