On Monday, 22nd June, Uganda Cranes players led by their captain Denis Masinde Onyango through their social media platforms reminded President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni about the $1M promise following a successful AFCON campaign last year in Egypt.
In an interview with NTV, the State Minister for Sports Hon. Hamson Denis Obua has assured the Uganda Cranes players that they will receive their $1M Presidential pledge.
He also called upon the players to remain patient since they are following up

“I call upon my brothers, from captain Onyango and all the senior players of our National team to remain patient. We are following up, reminding and optimistic that this particular pledge will be paid.” Stated Obua.
Uganda Cranes fell short of a quarterfinal place after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Senegal courtesy of a Sadio Mane sole strike in the round of 16 contest.
