Nakaziro in spotlight as Uganda Martyrs, Kampala Queens meet in title six pointer

Uganda Martyrs host Kampala Queens at St. Gerald’s, Lubaga in one of the four Fufa Women Super League games to be played this Wednesday.

The game will be an affair between the second and the third teams on the log.

Uganda Martyrs sit third on the table with 23 points after 12 games while Kampala Queens are second on 25 points, one behind leaders She Corporate.

The biggest pre match talking point is goalkeeper Daisy Nakaziro who is set to make her debut for Uganda Martyrs after securing clearance from the players status committee.

Nakaziro has been out of action since the start of the season having left Lady Doves where she has played for at least the past three seasons.

The Crested Cranes shot stopper expressed her readiness for action despite sitting out for the opening part of the season.

” I’m so happy that I’ve joined Uganda Martyrs, it’s been a long process but I’m eligible to play. It’s been a while (for me) without playing in the Women Super League. I’ve been inquiring from the best coaches and I’m fit and ready for the game.”

Nakaziro said.

Uganda Martyrs will be without Brenda Munyana who is suspended after being sent off against Rines.

Kampala Queens come into the fixture with the top of the table. They beat Kawempe Muslim 4-3 in their previous game on Friday last week.

Uganda Martyrs drew 2-2 with She Corporate at Lubaga.

Kampala Queens coach Hamza Lutalo says he will use the same approach that won against Kawempe.

” Uganda Martyrs is a good team though our worry is about some injury concerns but by match day, I expect us to be good to go.”

Lutalo said

” They are a good team like Kawempe but we managed to negotiate the tie against Kawempe so we expect to do that same.”

Lutalo added

The other games to be played on the day will see Kawempe Muslim visit Rines at Wakisha.

UCU Lady Cardinals host Tooro Queens while leaders She Corporate visit Lady in Masindi.
