Netball World Cup: Valiant She Cranes fall to five time Champions New Zealand



She Cranes put up a courageous performance in their defeat to World champions New Zealand on Saturday.

New Zealand prevailed 54-44 to record their sixth straight win over Uganda.

This is also New Zealand’s second win at the ongoing Global Showpiece in South Africa after their 76-27 win over Trinidad and Tobago.

Uganda had a brilliant start to their campaign beating Singapore 79-37.

Against the five time World champions, Uganda came really close before their challenge faded in the fourth quarter.

Star player Mary Nuba registered 30 goals and Shadia Nassanga managed 10.

The beleaguered She Cranes will next face Trinidad & Tobago tomorrow afternoon (5Pm EAT).

Victory over She Cranes sees the holders storm the second round of the competition with a game to spare.
