Nicholas Musonye to contest for FKF presidency

Former CECAFA General Secretary Nicholas Musonye has confirmed his candidature for the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) presidency.

Musonye left his CECAFA General Secretary in December last year after serving for 20 years and was subsequently replaced by his compatriot Auka Gecheo.

While appearing on Kenya’s NTV, Musonye revealed his FKF presidency ambitions,

“I am officially in the race. I have received numerous calls from stakeholders including administrators, clubs and referees who wanted me to give it a try.

He joins a list of aspirants that include the incumbent Nick Mwendwa, former FKF president Sam Nyamweya, former AFC Leopards chairman Alex Ole Magelo, former Vihiga County Governor Bishop Moses Akaranga, Gor Mahia CEO Lordvick Aduda, former Coast NEC member Twaha Mbarak and former Kefoca deputy Secretary General Hamisi Shivachi.

The FKF presidential elections are expected to be held soon after the COVID-19 pandemic is contained in Kenya.
