Striker Steven Dese Mukwala has officially joined Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko FC on a two year contract.

Mukwala has been a free agent after his employment contract with URA FC officially expired.

He has been a transfer target for Asante Kotoko for the last two years and came close to sealing the move twice before the deal fell through.

Before moving to Ghana two days ago, Mukwala was on the verge of joining an unidentified club in Thailand but the move didn’t materialize in the closing stages.

Mukwala travelled to Ghana two days ago before he was officially unveiled today.

Mukwala was been one of the best scoring goals in the Uganda Premier League and won the Golden Boot in the 2019/20 season while playing for Maroons.

He now becomes the third Ugandan player to play for Asante Kotoko after Joseph Ochaya and striker George Opiyo Abege.

Formed 86 years ago, Asante Kotoko is the most successful club in Ghana having won 24 league titles and two CAF Champions League titles in 1970 and 1983.
