Kyambogo University shocked Makerere University Business School in the return leg of their Pepsi University Football league quarterfinal on Tuesday.

Kyambogo registered their first ever win against rivals MUBS after a 2-1 victory in Nakawa.

With the two sides level on aggregate the winner was to be decided on a penalty shootout. Kyambogo prevailed to the Semifinals 4-1 after the shootout with their custodian Ahebwomugisha Andrew saving three MUBS penalties.

Kyambogo lost the first leg at home 2-1 but never gave as they levelled the tie through Nkwanga Joel and a late Laker Joram strike from the corner kick to secure their first ever win against MUBS in 9 games.

Ssengendo Sharif had given the home side the lead in the 7th minute but it was not enough to hurt a spirited Kyambogo side.

Kyambogo progress to the semi-finals for their third time since 2014.

They join St. Lawrence University, Uganda Martyrs University and Uganda Christian University in the semi-finals with the draw scheduled for Thursday 13th October at 2:30pm.
