PEPSI UFL: IUIU overcome Busitema to register first victory

Islamic University in Uganda beat Busitema University 1-0 in a highly contested game on Thursday evening in the Pepsi University Football League.

Ismail Tambula scored the only goal of the game as IUIU registered their first maximum points of the campaign.

Tambula fired the home side into the lead in the 38th minute of the game.

The resilient and well organized IUIU team was able to smile to their first victory of the season.

IUIU move up to second place after two games they have played in Group F.

Meanwhile, Kumi University will be aiming for their third straight group win when they host reigning champions Uganda Christian University in Kumi.

The last time the two sides faced off in 2020, UCU beat Kumi 1-0. Currently Kumi are top of the group with 6 points they have garnered in two games whereas UCU are second on 3 points.
