PEPSI UFL: Kayondo scores late free kick to send Uganda Martyrs into the semis

Kayondo Joseph scored a late free kick as Uganda Martyrs edged 2019 semifinalist Bugema University 2-1 in the second leg of their Pepsi University Football Quarterfinal contest on Tuesday at Nkozi.

Uganda Martyrs University advance 3-2 on aggregate.

Kaija Sunny scored the other goal in the first half before Ssebaale Swalifidin levelled matters for the visitors Bugema 15 minutes to normal time.

Kayondo broke Bugema’s hearts in the 86th minute with a stunning free kick goal to send Uganda Martyrs into the late four.

Uganda Martyrs prevail 3-2 on aggregate and join St.Lawrence University who eliminated Kampala University last week into the semifinals.

Action will resume on Thursday as defending champions Uganda Christian University host Nkumba University in the second leg of their quarterfinal.
