Defending champions Uganda Christian University cruised to a narrow 1-0 win over former champions Uganda Martyrs University in the first leg of their 2022 Pepsi University Football League semifinal played on Thursday in Mukono.
UCU talisman Ofoywroth Isaac scored the all important goal for UCU in the 12th minute of the entertaining contest in Mukono.
Ofoyrwoth however turned from hero to villain when he was sent off in the 58th minute.
The Visitors also finished the game with 10 men after Kasozi Kennedy was also shown red three minutes to normal time.Both players are suspended for the return leg due next week.

By fulltime whistle, the home side cruised to a 1-0 victory and the two sides will next face off on 27th October for the return leg in Nkozi.
Meanwhile, the other Semi-Final contest will be played on Tuesday 25th October 2022 when 2019 runner up St.Lawrence University host two time winners MUBS who replaced Kyambogo University following their successful petition over the latter’s use of an impersonator during their quarter-final second leg win at Nakawa.
