Pistis Barenge signs new contract at Mbarara City

Mbarara City defensive midfielder Pistis Barenge has signed a new two year contract at club.

The workaholic midfielder will stay at the Mbarara outfit until 2022 unless otherwise.

He becomes the fourth player to renew his contract after Stephen Othieno, goalkeeper Muhammad Ssekeba and striker Jude Semugabi.

Barenge was signed together with Swed Swatugambo when Mbarara city gained promotion

Balenge joined the Ankole Lions in 2017 after a stint from his native country Burundi with Vital’O.

He scored Mbarara City’s first ever goal in the top-flight league as they defeated Express FC 1-0 at Kakyeka stadium in Mbarara.

He subsequently played a starring role in the club’s fight for survival before guiding them to a fifth place finish in the 2019/20 season.

Mbarara City who are coached by Brian Ssenyondo, finished 7th last season after garnering 36 points in the 25 games played last season.
