Police, Onduparaka face off as battle for survival continues


Police FC host Onduparaka in the only game to be played on Friday at the MTN Onduparaka in Lugogo.

Both sides are fighting for safety and are currently tied on 24 points only to be separated by goal difference.

The Cops who have also played a game more than Onduparaka, are 12th while the Caterpillars are 13th having played 22 games.

Coming into the encounter, Police lost 2-1 to Express in their previous game while Onduparaka won with the similar score line against Wakiso Giants in their most recent league game at Kabaka Kyabaggu.

Team News

Police will be without injured goalkeeper Abdul Kimera as well as long term absentees Hassan Muhamood and Eddie Kapampa.

The Cops are boosted by the return of youngsters Emmanuel Mugume and Sammy Ssebadduka from injury.

Defender Joseph Sentume also returns from suspension.

Onduparaka will be without youngster John Rogers Okumu who is ruled out by accumulated yellow cards.

The Caterpillars will also be without long term absentees Jimmy Ndalambi, Rashid Okocha and Rashid Agau.

Head To Head

Onduparaka have a superior head to head record over Police having won seven of the previous nine meetings between the two sides.

Police has won the other two meetings.

The first round meeting in Arua ended 1-0 in favor of Onduparaka courtesy of Emmanuel Oketch late winning goal.

A win for either side will automatically elevate them to the 9th place on 27 points leapfrogging SC Villa, Busoga United and UPDF in the process.
