President Museveni donates 11 acres of land to Uganda Boxing Federation

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on behalf of the Government of Uganda has donated 11 acres of land for Boxing Facilities Development to Uganda Boxing Federation(UBF).

The development was confirmed by the UBF President Moses Muhangi during a press briefing that was held on Wednesday at Kati Kati Restaurant in Lugogo.

Muhangi urged the Uganda land commission to help them acquire the land as earlier as possible for the Federation to begin it’s development plans

“I thank President Museveni for giving us 11 acres of land across the country. I therefore urge the Uganda land commission to help us acquire the land as early as possible.”

Muhangi believes with infrastructures, good leadership and structures, Boxing will become the biggest sport in the country

“Boxing is going to be the biggest sport in the country, we have structures and great leadership. We believe that through construction of infrastructure, we shall improve our level of competitiveness at the international stage.”

One (1) acre each will be distributed across different towns/districts namely: Kampala, Jinja, Mbarara, Mbale, Soroti, Gulu, Arua, Hoima, Masaka and Kasese.

According to Muhangi, they are to construct a Uganda Boxing Academy on Matugga land using the resources promised to the Federation by the International Boxing Association President Umar Kremlev.

The facility will comprise of; competition arena, gym and fitness center, sports shopping center, swimming pool, hotel and accommodation, athletes accomodations, conference halls, learning center, offices, public gardens among others.
