Presidential candidate Ucanda launches manifesto ahead of 2021 Uganda Netball Federation elections

With just days left to the Uganda Netball Federation Elections, Presidential candidate Jocelyn Ucanda launched her manifesto on Tuesday at Route256 in Lugogo.

Ucanda has been the National Team (She Cranes) manager in the outgoing executive pointed out on five key pillars that she thinks will improve the game of Netball in the country.

“I will be working with the Uganda Netball Federation executive and the Netball fraternity to have a leadership that will focus on five key pillars which I have called “The five gifts.”

If elected into office, I will be able to facilitate National teams in taking part in regional and international competitions.” I will also organise competitions for talent identification and development in the country and also push for Netball Arena which will be our own home.”

Ucanda promised proper governance by developing effective administrative structures at all levels.

She is also optimistic that during her time in office, she will strengthen strategic partnerships with international bodies as well as professionalising the game in the country.

Ucanda will battle for the top office against Hon.Sarah Babirye who is also a teacher at Nabbingo.

At the Manifesto launch, Ucanda was flanked by outgoing UNF General Secretary Annet Kisomose, Vice President Administration William Bwambale, Vice President Technical Denis Mpoza, Publicity Secretary Florence Nakamya and Assistant General Secretary Wilberforce Mutete.

The elections are to be held on Saturday, June 5th were 20 clubs from 97 districts and four institutions are eligible to vote.

The winner of the Presidential polls will replace Susan Anek whose three terms came to an end. Anek replaced Lydia Bukenya in 2007.
