REVEALED: 9 SC Villa players out of contract, including the captain, first choice goalkeeper and a key forward

With the transfer season gaining momentum, players looking for greener pastures and others seeking to consolidate their stay at current work places, it’s been revealed that at SC Villa things are different.

For club that has experienced the highest player turnover among the top 4 teams in the league, the same status quo is bound to remain even this season.

A mass exodus is expected to happen with key players like Martin Kizza, Henry Katongole, Ambrose Kirya, and Abel Eturude already looking at the exit door with running down contracts.

Reports have linked Kizza (out of contract) to a possible move to Vipers SC or a return to KCCA FC , whereas Katongole is rumoured to be eyeing an overseas deal despite having another year on his contract.

One of the players who preferred anonymity told this website that, despite the current state of affairs, club president Eng. Ben Misagga has promised to the players that the club is planning to open negotiations with them before the August elections are conducted at the club.

” It’s true that most of our contracts are running down but the president promised that everything will be sorted before they go for elections. We are also in anticipation for the best”

He said.

Among the key players that are out of contract is first choice goalkeeper Samson Kirya. Kirya conceded the least number of goals in the just concluded premier league season.

Abel Eturude, Yubu Bogere, Ambrose Kirya, Alex Semuyaba and Dudu Ramathan are among the other first team players whose contracts have expired at the club.

Experienced Cranes pair of Joseph Nsubuga and captain Bernard Muwanga have only 6 months remained on their current contracts.

This leaves the club with only one player among the key starters being Nicholas Kasozi who still has 2 years remaining on his current deal.

Promising left back Arthur Kiggundu, Ahimbisibwe Ivan and young goal keeper Wasswa Yusuf are the other only players with a contract period that exceeds a year. The rest will be out of contract next season.
