SC VILLA vs EXPRESS: The Jogoos seek vengeance in eternal derby

This evening, SC Villa will host nemesis Express FC at Bombo Military Grounds in Bombo.

Vengeance will be on top of the agenda for Edwardo Kaziba’s men having lost to Express 1-0 in the first round at Wankulukuku. Former Villa striker George Senkaaba scored the solitary goal.

This edition comes at a time when Express FC are the more in form team of the two. The Red Eagles are in serious contention for the title and victory for them will keep them in check with the joint table leaders Vipers and URA FC who won their games yesterday.

The two rivals progressed to the Uganda cup round of 16 after sweeping aside their opponents. Express edged Kyetume at Wankulukuku with a slim 1-0 victory whereas Villa emphatically overturned a 1-0 deficit to beat Ndejje 3-0 at the Arena of Visions.

Head to Head

The most recent 5 meetings between them have been dominated by SC Villa with 3 wins and a draw. Express FC have won once, the 1-0 victory at Wankulukuku in the first round.

Only URA with 7 wins have a better away record in the league than Express. Wasswa Bbosa’s men have won 5 games on the road, drawn twice and only lost once when playing away from home.

Coincidentally, their only loss on the road was inflicted on them at today’s venue, the Bombo Military Grounds by UPDF FC.
