Soltilo Bright Stars forward Sam Kayongo Ssekamatte, Kobs’ James Ijongat and Rally driver Jas Mangat with his navigator Joseph Kamya have been named as the Fortebet Real Stars footballer, Rugby and Motorsport athletes of the month of April respectively.
Former FUFA President Hajji Twaha Kakaire was awarded the first sports achievers award. Kakaire served as the Federation boss from 1995 to 1999.

The three outstanding athletes were rewarded at a glamorous event held at 256 Route Restaurant in Lugogo on Tuesday.

Ssekamatte who scored eight goals in all competitions beat Vipers forward Yunus Sentamu and URA FC captain Shafiq Kagimu to the April gong.



In Rugby, Kobs’ Ijongat scooped the award beating Ivan Magomu (Pirates) and Aziz Khan (Heathens)
Ijongat played two games including one against Heathens and managed 12 points in their 19-11 win during the month of April.

Mangat who did not attend the awarding ceremony was represented by his navigator Kamya.
The pair beat Duncan Mubiru and Hassan Alwi to the award. During the month of April, the duo finished in third place at the Equator Rally in Naivasha,Kenya and also finished second at the third round of the National Rally Championship in Sembabule.
The winners walked away with an accolade and cash prizes. The monthly awards are sponsored by betting company Fortebet, Canaan Energy Drink and Jude Color Solutions.
