Sempigi still confident of Mbarara City survival

David GOMBE

Mbarara City head coach Sadick Sempigi is confident that his side will beat the drop this season.

The Ankole Lions are on a 14 winless run and are currently second from the bottom of the Uganda Premier League log with 19 points. They last won a league game in December last year during their 3-2 home win over Onduparaka FC.

“We still have games to play and I am confident we will fight and get the needed results. I am optimistic we shall beat the drop this season, we need to start winning games and am hopeful we shall fix things in our remaining games of the season.”

Despite the lose at Kitende on Tuesday in their previous game at Kitende, Sempigi was delighted with the performance of his troops

“We lost to a better team but the boys but up a great performance and we could have scored goals in the game. We shall build on that performance in our next game against Police.”

Said Sempigi

Mbarara City will next host fellow strugglers Police on Tuesday, 12th April at the Kakyeka Stadium.

The Ankole Lions were drawn against Mbale Heroes in the Stanbic Uganda Cup quarterfinals which are scheduled for 23rd-27th April.
