Solomon Walusimbi brace fires Maroons past Luweero United

Maroons FC bounced back to winning ways after a 3-1 defeat against Luweero United at Luzira Prisons grounds.

Fred Amaku put Maroons FC in the lead before Solomon Walusimbi bagging a brace after scoring in the 47th and 57th minutes.

Brian Nsubuga found the consolation for the visitors in the 61st minute.

Amaku extended his tally to ten goals one behind the league’s leading scorer Ezra Kaye Kizito of Kyetume FC who has 11 goals.

Victory takes Maroons FC second with 29 points, two behind leaders Blacks Power FC.

Luweero United drops back to the red zone in 9th with 18 points.

Both teams next play on Thursday-17th-March

The Prison Warders will visit Kyetume FC at Nakisunga grounds in Mukono.

Luweero United will be away against Kitara FC at Masindi Municipal Stadium.

At Aki Bua Stadium in Lira, Blacks Power FC played to a goalless stalemate with Kyetume FC.

Despite the result, Blacks Power FC maintain their position on top of the table with 31 points.

Kyetume FC are now third with 28 points after being toppled by Maroons FC with 29 points.

It was another barren stalemate at Greenlight Stadium Arua between bottom placed Nyamityobora FC and Calvary FC.
