Uganda Premier league side Soltilo Bright Stars have this afternoon announced the appointment of Paul Kiwanuka as their head coach until the end of the current season.

Kiwanuka will be at the helms of the club for his 3rd stint after serving previously under two capacities. That of head coach and assistant to Fred Kajoba.

“I am happy to return home and have already started working towards the main target of ensuring that club fights off relegation”

Kiwanuka told the club media after his first training session.

He has been jobless after being shown the exit at Vipers SC last season where he stood in for his former boss Fred Kajoba.

The club also confirmed that Simon Peter Mugerwa the incumbent coach will now join the technical support department and has already assumed his duties.

Mugerwa replaced Baker Mbowa who was sacked early in the current season for failure to steady the sinking ship that saw the club languish in the relegation positions.

Mugerwa has however failed to make any improvements in the squad and has only managed to guide them to only two wins when they beat SC Villa and Tooro United at Kavumba.

Kiwanuka will be tasked to regain Bright Stars’ respectable stature and help them face relegation, an omen they have avoided since 2012.

Bright Stars will resume their season with a date with URA FC.
