Ismail Watenga and his Chippa United missed out on this sesson’s Nedbank Cup after losing 1-0 to Tshakhuma Tsha Madvizhandila (TTM) in the final played at the Free State Stadium.
Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo’s deflected shot was the lone goal of the game in the 27th minute and clinched Tshakhuma’s first ever title.
Tshakhuma beat Mamelodi Sundowns on penalties in the semi final while Watenga’s Chippa United edged second tier side Pretoria Callies.

The victory meant that Tshakhuma will represent South Africa in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Prior to the final, Watenga had kept three consecutive clean sheets against Stellenbosch, Kaizer Chiefs and Lamontville Golden Arrows.
The Uganda Cranes goalkeeper has featured in seven games for the Chilli Boys managing four clean sheets and conceding four goals in the process.

Chippa will now shift attention to the DStv Premiership where they vying for safety as the league nears the climax.
