Uganda’s boxer Ssali Amir Wasswa powered into the final of Africa Boxing Championship in Cameroon after overcoming DR Congo’s Kitangila Idris in the Semifinal
The Uganda beat his Congolese opponent in the 57-60Kg category to cruise to Saturday’s final.
Victory for Ssali in the final will earn him $15000 for the gold medal and if he settles for silver then $10000 will be in his bag.
Meanwhile, Uganda’s Grace Nankinga suffered defeat to DR Congo’s Gisle Nyembo by Referee Stop Contest (RSC) in round 1.

Despite the defeat, Nankinga will return home with $5000 for her bronze medal.
17 Boxers represented Uganda at the ongoing Africa Boxing Championship in Cameroon.

Seven from the 17 prevailed to the Semifinal stage which guaranteed Uganda 7 medals at the event in Yaounde.
