Ssingo appoint Simon Dunga as head coach


Ahead of the 2022 Masaza Cup competition, two time champions Ssingo have appointed Simon Ddungu “Dunga” as head coach.

Ddungu also head coach of Region league side Mbale Heroes whom he guided to Stanbic Uganda Cup quarterfinals.

“I am honoured by the management of Ssingo Ssaza team for this opportunity to work for the team. I thank the media and the people of Ssingo for supporting the team. It is time to work and win a trophy.”

Said Ddungu.

Ddungu has previously served at Buwekula, Mawokota, Gomba and Busiro.

During the 2017 edition, Dungu guided Gomba to the Masaza Cup triumph and also won the competition as assistant coach to Edward Golola at Mawokota in 2013.

He will work with Emmy Kisakye who was at the helms during the 2021 edition with Regan Like as the goalkeeping coach.

Ssingo are two time competition winners in 2015 and 2018 with both triumphs coming under the stewardship of Shafiq Bisaso
