Striker Samuel Ssekamatte Kayongo has bid farewell to Soltilo Bright Stars following the expiry of his one year employment contract with the club.
Ssekamatte was the Bright Stars’ leading scorer with 12 league goals in the recently concluded season.
He conveyed his farewell message via his facebook page.

“Today I say goodbye to this wonderful club Soltilo Bright stars, who welcomed me and my family and I felt at home.”
Reads the post.
“About a year ago I joined this family that not only gave me an opportunity to taste football in our home league again but also enabled me to play to better my career and become a better player.”

He added.
He spared special appreciation to the club’s administration, the technical team as well as fellow players and the fans.
“Lastly to the fans, thank you for encouraging me though I didn’t get the chance to play with you guys inside the stadium but I felt the love in my inbox and for sure you have enabled me become a better person. I leave with my head held high wishing the club all the best in the upcoming season 2021-2022.”
Ssekamatte joined Bright Stars as a free agent at the start of last season. His brilliant performance in April elevated him to the player of the month accolade.
He has previously played for Masaka LC, Kira Young, SC Victoria University, KCCA FC, Malakia of South Sudan and Zambian side Red Arrows among others.

His next destination is however not yet now but he now becomes the third player to bid farewell to Bright Stars after goalkeeper Godwin Buule and winger Joseph Akandwanaho.
