Uganda Cranes midfielder Taddeo Lwanga will not feature in the Kariakoo Derby as Tanzanian heavyweights Simba SC and Yanga SC lock horns this Saturday in Dar es Salaam.
His compatriot Khalid Aucho is expected to command Yanga’s midfield after starting on the bench in the club’s most recent game against Mbeya Kwanza.
Lwanga, who is nursing an injury, has not been in action since the start of last month. His injury ruled him out of Cranes’ most recent encounters in the World Cup Qualifiers last month.
It should be remembered that the hard tackling midfielder was sent off in the 90th minute as both sides faced off in Community Shield which serves as a season curtain raiser in September.

However, the former Villa and Vipers captain was the difference when the two rivals met in the FA Cup final at the end of last season when he scored a late header to win it for Simba.
Yanga come into the anticipated game as the slight favourites since they are the current leaders while their rivals have been struggling for form recently.
Yanga have 19 points from the seven games played while Simba are second with 17. In fact, the two teams together with Matia Lule’s Mbeya FC are the only unbeaten sides in the league.
Yanga won the last meeting in the Community Shield 1-0 courtesy of Fiston Mayele’s early goal.
The game will be played at 11pm at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
