The Hippos take on Malawi in a bid to seal a place in the knock out stages

The Hippos are playing Malawi today 11th December 2017 at 12hrs in their last game in group A at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe Zambia.

The Ugandans are yet to loose any game having defeated the hosts Zambia 2-0 in their opening game and drew with Swaziland 2-2 in the very recent goals scored by Skipper Muhammad Shaban and Allan Okello.

Coach Matia Lule is adamant his team will do the necessary to progress to the knock out stages albeit missing his captain and star player to suspension.

“Good enough we are all fine and the players are doing well very ready and determined to look for positive results. We are coming for a win since its the one to see us through to the next level. “

Despite missing out the services of Skipper Muhammad Shaban who was sent off as they played Swaziland Coach Matia Lule believes they have good replacements,

“We usually believe in team work not individuals though Shaban is out Hamis Tibita is a good player who can also deliver well so expect positive results. “

Uganda is leading the table with 4 points ahead of Malawi on goal difference. Swaziland comes third with one point as Zambia lies on the bottom also with a point.

A win for the Hippos will see them book a place in the quarter finals.
