This will be the 14 league meeting between the two sides in a fixture that has seen Vipers the dominant side. They have won 7, drawn 4 and only lost twice to BUL in the previous 13 encounters. In the first round this season Vipers edged BUL FC 1-0 at St. Mary’s Stadium Kitende.

The last time the Jinja outfit picked maximum points was during the 2015/16 season, with BUL winning 1-0 in Buikwe thanks to a Yunus Sibira solitary goal in the final minutes of the game.

Vipers is yet to lose a game since the start of the second round, winning 5 and only drawing once in the 6 games they have played and accumulating 16 points out of the possible 18.

Assistant coach Kiwanuka Tirika will be in the BUL dugout following club suspension of head coach Kefa Kisala who will begin his 3 game touchline ban. BUL will also miss the services of suspended duo of Douglas Owori ( Red card) and Yunus Sibira ( accumulation of cards).

Hamis Tibita, Daniel Shabene and William Otongo are expected to lift up the Jinja based side for a positive result.

Jorge Da Costa has all players at his disposal available for selection with first choice goalkeeper Ismail Watenga also back from injury. They will look for inspiration from Dan Sserunkuma, Milton Karisa and Tom Masiko who was impressive in their memorable come back against Bright Stars.

BUL FC assistant coach Kiwanuka is optimistic that his side will be seeking for maximum points against Vipers.

He says,

“We will be aiming to get three points against Vipers even if we are playing a side that is desperate to win the title. I believe we shall give our fans a good game tomorrow.”

It was Kiwanuka who was on the BUL touchline during the club’s last victory over Vipers in 2015/16 season following Alex Isabirye’s suspension who was the club head coach during that time.

Victory for Jorge Da Costa’s charges will see them leapfrog KCCA in second place whereas a win for BUL FC can only keep them in their eighth position.

It is a contest that will see BUL playing with less pressure and will be only aiming to deny Vipers title hopes. Vipers on the other hand will be seeking to keep their title chase alive making the encounter one not to miss out.
