Tooro, Teso advance to FUFA Drum quarters

Tooro Province beat Rwenzori at the round of 16 stage


Tooro Province progressed to the quarterfinals of the FUFA Drum after edging Rwenzori 1-0 on aggregate.

The two sides played out to a goalless stalemate in the return leg of the round of 16 at Christ School playground in Bundibugyo on Sunday.

David Opio’s first leg goal sends Tooro into the last eight of the competition.

Meanwhile, Teso and Busoga played out to a 1-1 draw in their second leg at Emokori Ground.

Simon Peter Oketch had given the visitors an early lead before Ibrahim Orit levelled matters for the hosts in the 61st minute.

Teso who won the first leg 2-1 in Iganga prevail to the quarterfinals 3-2 on aggregate.

Tooro and Teso join Acholi, Buganda, Kampala, Bugisu, West Nile and Lango into the quarterfinals of the third edition of the FUFA Drum.
