TRANSFERS: Vipers set to sign Austria based midfielder

Vipers SC have agreed terms with Ugandan Austria based attacking midfielder Frank Kato Ntale Kizanyiro, Swift Sports Uganda understands.

The gifted attacking midfielder is expected to put pen to paper on a three year employment contract with the four time Uganda Premier League champions.

Kato has of late been featuring for Austria Wien II in the second tier of Austria.

In case the move materializes, Kato will be returning to Kitende where he featured in the Vipers Junior Team in FUFA Junior league.

At St.Mary’s Kitende the feeder of Vipers senior team, Kato played with the likes of Dan Birikwalira (Kyetume FC), Alitho James (URA FC), Halid Lwaliwa(Vipers), Ismail Watenga(Chippa United, South Africa), Methodius Jungu (Bright Stars), Farouk Miya (FC Lviv, Ukraine), Yunus Sentamu (Vipers SC) and Bob Olouch.

Kato next to Bright Stars’ Methodius Jungu in the middle during their time at St.Mary’s Kitende.

He has previously featured for Vipers JT (2014-16) and youth sides in France – Red Stars FC (2017-18) and Creteil FC (2019-20), Austria Wien II in the second tier of Austria. He is also a former Kampala Junior Team player where he won the Gothia Cup in Norway.

Vipers have already signed midfielder Frank Tumwesigye Zaga, Hillary Mukundane and defender Bob Olouch.
