Gaziantep FK 3-1 Konyaspor Kulübü

Farouk Miya’s Konyaspor Kulubu suffered a huge blow in their fight to beat the drop after falling 3-1 to Gaziantep FK in the Turkish Super Lig encounter played on Thursday night.

Miya who scored Konyaspor winning goal against Caykur Rizespor in their previous game on Sunday, made his first start for since the restart of the Turkish Super Lig.

The Uganda Cranes offensive midfielder played 73 minutes before he was withdrawn for Peruvian forward Paolo Hurtado.

While Deni Milosevic scored Konyaspor’s goal in the 13th minute of the first half, Miya got booked for foul play a minute before the half-time break.

Gaziantep FK fought back to win all three points courtesy of late goals from Alexandru Maxim (penalty), Furkan Soyalp and Bartlomiej Pawlowski which came inside the final 10 minutes of the game.

The 3-1 defeat leaves Konyaspor in 17th place on the table of 18 teams with 30 points from 31 games.

Konyaspor will visit current table leaders Basaksehir FK in their next league game slated for Monday 13th July.
