Two penalties missed as BUL, Wakiso Giants play to a barren draw

BUL FC and Wakiso Giants shared spoils in a barren stalemate at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru in a game where both sides missed penalties either halves.

Viane Ssekajugo missed the one for the visiting side in the 18th minute after being fouled by Willy Makuro in the box. His effort was saved by Abdul Kimera.

In the 90th minute of the affair, BUL were also awarded a penalty by referee Mashood Ssali and second half substitute Hamis Tibita who stood up to convert a would be winner only to be denied by the Wakiso Giants goalie Derrick Emukule.

Tibita had replaced James Otim in the 65th minute and became the third BUL FC player to miss a penalty this season.

Emukule was subsequently named the Pilsner Man of the Match for his timely match defining save.

It was caretaker coach Dan Kabaale who was in the BUL dug out after the sacking of Peter Onen on Friday 25th January.

Before the game, BUL officially unveiled two new signings in Vitalis Tabu and Fredrick Kigozi at the club’s head offices in Masese.

Wakiso Giants also unveiled midfielders Gadaffi Wahab and Ibrahim Faizul Anini from Onduparaka.

BUL remain sixth with 30 points after 19 games while the Purple Sharks have garnered 24 points in the same number of games.

Wakiso Giants will host Bright Stars on Sunday 2nd Febuary at while BUL will take on rivals Busoga United at the Mighty Arena on Saturday 1st February.
