Uganda Cranes set to play against Germany in the Allianz Arena later this year

In preparation for the world cup bonanza in Qatar that starts on November 21, 2022, four time champions Germany have lined up a number of friendly games.

With the help of former FUFA technical director Gunter Zitell Uganda Cranes will have the privilege of playing a friendly game against some of the very best world class players come October this year.

Gunter Zitell is a Germany expert who worked as FUFA technical director in the early 2000’s under an arrangement and understanding that the Germany government had with the Ugandan government to help develop the beautiful game.

Now with the help of his links at the DFB and previous relationship with FUFA, Zittel has helped broker what will arguably be Uganda Cranes ‘biggest’ game ever in terms of opponent.

Speaking at the press conference yesterday and also showing a copy of the letter from the DFB, an elated FUFA president Moses Magogo confirmed the development

“We as FUFA continue to achieve, I now confirm to you that we have an international friendly game lined up against former world champions in the Allianz’s Arena later this year”

“This game will help us test ourselves against the very best of this world. I would like to thank Mr Gunter Zittel for making this possible.”

“I can’t lie that it was me or Coach Micho who we all know is from Serbia and not Germany that made this possible, it’s all Zittel’s efforts.” concluded Magogo

In related news, Denis Onyango the formerUganda Cranes Captain has hinted at a comeback to the national team for this friendly game.

“I have always dreamt of playing against 3 or 4 world class players, one of them was Messi who I did play against when they visited SA, the other two are Thomas Muller and of course Manuel Neuer”

“If I am to have one last dance with the Uganda Cranes, this should be it. I will be available for selection only for this particular game and I hope I am given a chance”
