Uganda Cranes to participate in a 4-nation tournament in Uzbekistan
Uganda Cranes have been invited as a guest team for the 2022 Navruz Cup to be held in Uzbekistan later this month.
Uganda has been drawn against Tajikistan in the semi final that will be played on 25th March at the Markaziy Stadium in Namangan.
The eventual winner of the semi final duel will face the winner of the second final between the hosts Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.

The final of the tournament will be played on 29th March, the same day a third place play off will be played between the losing semi finalists.

This will be the second time Uganda is engaging in friendly games this year with the first one coming towards the end of January in Europe and Asia.
Uganda played five games in January and drew twice against Iceland (1-1) and Romanian club Botosani (2-2) while winning twice 3-1 against Bahrain and 3-2 against Moldova.
The Cranes lost one game, a 1-0 against Iraq in Baghdad.
The Navruz Cup has been organized to make use of the upcoming international break this month.

Uganda (84th) is the highest ranked nation in the tournament while Uzbekistan are 85th in the global rankings.
Kyrgyzstan are currently 96 while Tajikistan are ranked 115.
