Uganda Netball Federation, Sponsors glamorously send off She Cranes World Cup team



The Uganda Netball Federation Partners and friends handed the She Cranes a mega send off dinner on Friday evening ahead of the 2023 Netball World Cup in Cape Town.

The She Cranes were first flagged off at Serena Hotel Kampala before crossing to Imperial Royale Hotel for the Mega send off dinner.

She Cranes Captain, Irene Eyaru thanked all the sponsors, partners and friends for always standing with her team and promised not to let the nation down.

“It’s such a pleasure, it’s great that we have people who love us, your sponsorships sell us international because you also advertise us, on behalf of the team we that you all and expected the best from the girls because we’re going to compete.” Said Eyaru as quoted by Voice of Bugerere.

Apart from the three officially recognized She Cranes partners and sponsors Plascon the main sponsors, Uganda Airlines and Gal Sports Betting Uganda, the glamorous event also had other partners who bought tables in the solidarity with the team.

These include: Tooke Flour Manufacturing company, National Gaming and Lotteries, Kagwirawo Betting Company, 1xbet Uganda, Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT), AbaBet Uganda, Betpawa Uganda, Kampala University.

The Uganda Boxing Federation Moses Muhangi also bought a table at the event that was graced by Hon. Margret Nantongo Zziwa.

Zziwa thanked all the sponsors and partners, guests for the support towards the She Cranes.

Federation President Babirye Kityo made her first public appearance at at same the night since her stepping aside for a period of three months.

She thanked all those who stood with her in the trying moment, promised to serve the game the more, never forgotten to thank Marketing department of the federation for great job done to persuade the corporate companies even when the federation was in serious waves.

She thanked all the clubs and the Netball stakeholders who have done any to see that the sport maintain it’s number one position in the country.

Meanwhile, the team arrived Safely in South Africa on Saturday aboard Uganda Airlines and they will have their first game on Friday 28th July 2023.

She Cranes is in group D with defending champions, New Zealand, Trinidad and Tobago and Singapore.
