Uganda will take on the Ivory Coast in their final group game at Marrakech.

Despite being already eliminated from the tournament, there is a lot to play for. The Cranes can add an extra 25,000 USD in prize money, a bonus for teams that finish 3rd in their respective groups.

Uganda have not picked a point from their previous 2 games and they currently lie 3rd courtesy of a better goal difference. Ivory Coast have not scored any goal from their 2 games.

Cranes head coach Sebastien Desabre reminded his team about the importance of this game.

“Our target is now to finish third in the group. We want the maximum points against Cote d’Ivoire. I know the league in Cote d’Ivoire because I was there for two years. I know some of the players but I have to stay focused .”

Desabre however maintains that this target will not be at the cost of good football. He adds,

“We didn’t qualify for the quarter finals because of some weaknesses but I will ask my players to continue playing good football.”

“I hope they can covert the chances that will come their way. It is important to stay third and I hope we can achieve that by beating Cote d’Ivoire, which is an equally good team.”

Desabre said at the present match conference.
