Uganda vs Kenya: Cranes aim to keep qualification hopes alive as they take on Harambee Stars



Uganda Cranes will be seeking for maximum points as they host Kenya in a group E World Cup qualification game at St.Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.

The Cranes come into this contest after managing a double over Rwanda with 1-0 victories last month.

The Harambee Stars on the other hand suffered back to back defeats to group leaders Mali in the previous two games, (5-0 away and 1-0 at home).

This will be the 77th overall meeting between the two sides with Uganda Managing 30 wins, Kenya 22 victories and 24 games have ended in stalemates.

The two sides played out to a goalless draw in their first leg encounter in Nairobi.

Uganda are currently second in Group E with eight points and only need to win both of their games against Kenya and Mali to progress to the final qualification phase.

Engin Firat’s side are mathematically out but will be aiming to end their East African neighbours World Cup dream in the oldest rivaly clash.

Micho’s beleaguered charges will look up to inspiration forward Fahad Bayo who netted both of Cranes goals against Rwanda. Youngster Bobi Byaruhanga and Moses Waiswa are also expected to be productive.

Micheal Olunga and Japanese based striker Ismael Dunga are expected to light up the visitors attack.
