Ugandan referees to officiate Ethiopia Vs South Sudan CHAN qualifier

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed the appointment of Ugandan referees for the upcoming CHAN 2022 qualifier first leg game between Ethiopia against South Sudan to be played on 22nd July, 2022 at the Dar Es Salaam National Stadium.

Eng. William Oloya will be the centre referee for the contest. He will be assisted by Isa Masembe and Hakim Mulindwa as the first and second assistants respectively.

Olemu George has been appointed as the fourth official whereas Mohamed Moumin Ali from Djibouti is the match commissioner.

The return leg between the two sides will be played a week later with the aggregate winner prevailing to the second round and will face Rwanda.

The second round games will be held between 26th and 28th August, with the return leg also a week later to determine who progresses to the final tournament.

The final tournament was delayed twice due to Covid-19 pandemic and the World Cup in Qatar, will be staged in Algeria from Jan 8 to 31 in 2023

Reigning champions Morocco, hosts Algeria and Libya are the only sides to have automatically advanced to the final event.
