SINAN RAJUB SENOGA
Ugandan born striker Mahad Kayondo has joined Romanian third tier club CSM Deva on a two year contract.
Kayondo is one of the 12 new signings that joined Club Sportiv Municipal Deva ahead of the new season.
Over the past two seasons, Kayondo has been playing for CSC Ghiroda Giarmata which also competes in the Romanian third tier league.

Last season, Kayondo was Ghiroda’s top scorer across all competitions with 12 goals and helped his side finish fifth in the league.

Kayondo, who is also an elder brother to Vipers and Uganda Cranes left back Aziz Kayondo, previously played for FUFA Big League side Ndejje University.
In 2018, he became the third Ugandan ever to play in Romania when he joined ACS Poli Timisoara who were competing in the Romanian topflight league by then.

Upto date, Kayondo together with Eugene Ssepuya and winger William Kizito Luwagga are the only Ugandans who have plied their trade in Romania.
Luwagga played for Polihtenica Iasi between 2017-20 while Ssepuya featured for Petrolul Ploiesti in 2011.
Kayondo’s new club was founded in 1921 and hosts league games at Cereta I Stadium in the city of Deva.
They are nicknamed The Citizens and are currently coached by Stefan Nanu, a former Romania national team left back.
CSM Deva opened their new 2021/22 campaign with a 3-0 away win over Vointa Lupa on Saturday.
