On Friday 29th May Wasswa Bbosa was officially confirmed as the permanent Express FC head coach on a three year contract.

Bbosa’s enormous task at Express is revamping the Red Eagles who have in the recent past been struggling to attain results on the pitch.

Aware of the task at hand, Bbosa says cooperation and patience will be the key factors if he is to revamp Express.

” The good thing is that when I left Express in 2016, the club employed close to seven coaches so retaining me means they have great faith in me. They know what I’m capable of doing.”

Bbosa said in an interview with 100.5 Bukedde FM.

” The most important thing should be working together with patience because me and the club have the common goal.”

Wasswa Bbosa was relieved of his duties in November 2016 before he was retained on a temporary basis in February this year to replace George Ssimwogerere.

” We have to build a team with a blend of young and experienced players. When the older players leave, the young ones can ably replace them. Even during my first stint, I used to balance the team with the young and old. Therefore we want a good team with a motive of competing.”

Bbosa said when asked on the kind of players he wants to use.

The former SC Villa and Tooro United tactician also refuted the rumors of any misunderstandings between him and the outgoing club CEO Hamza Jjunju.

” I thank the CEO so much because since I returned to the club, he has been so supportive and cooperative with me. He left the club because his contract expired and he humbly opted not to renew it. I thank him for the good time we worked together.”

Isaac Mwesigwa was officially confirmed as the new Express FC CEO replacing Jjunju whose next destination remains unknown.

Bbosa further said he wants to build an Express FC team that will compete for the league title instead of fighting for league survival in his three year tenure.

The six time league champions finished 9th on the UPL table with 31 points garnered from 25 games played in the recently concluded season.
