UPL postpones SC Villa Vs Vipers epic contest

The Uganda Premier league Secretariat has postponed the fixture between SC Villa and Vipers SC.

SC Villa was slated to host Vipers SC on Saturday but the fixture has been postponed since the latter has seven players on the Uganda Hippos Provisional Squad preparing for All Africa Games due in Ghana next month.

“Our fixture against Vipers has been postponed because our key players are with the national team.
A new date will be communicated.” Read a brief statement from SC Villa

In form Patrick Jonah Kakande, Umar Lutalo, Cyrus Kibande, Abbas Kyeyune, Hakim Mutebi, Delton Oyo and Charles Batiibwe are the seven SC Villa players on the provisional U-20 Squad.

The Uganda Hippos team will travel today for the Invitational Dire Dawa tournament in Ethiopia.

For starters, the Fufa competitions rules states that if a club has (3) or more players on the national team, the fixtures involving such a team can be called off.

SC Villa are currently fourth on the Uganda Premier league table with 30 points while Vipers SC are third on 31 points.
