URA duo nominated for Pilsner best Player of the month


The organisers of the Pilsner awards have revealed the nominees for player and coach for combined months January and February.

Vipers forward Cesar Manzoki will battle URA FC duo of Viane Ssekajugo and Steven Mukwala for the player of the month gong.

Manzoki who was the recipient of the December accolade scored three goals between January and February helping his side stay at the summit of the Uganda Premier league with 43 points.

The Congolese forward is also the current League top scorer with 12 goals.

URA striker Mukwala has also made the shortlist following his astonishing performances performances between January and February.

Mukwala netted four goals in the five games he played and is currently on 11 goals, one behind Manzoki.

Ssekajugo is the other nominee, the tax collectors forward scored four goals all coming against his former side Wakiso Giants.

For coach of the month, Venoms head coach Robertinho Oliviera will battle KCCA FC’s Morley Byekwaso and Sam Timbe of URA FC.

Oliveira managed 2 wins and 2 draws in four games his side played to stay top while Byekwaso won two, drew once and lost one game.

URA FC’s Timbe guided his side to 4 wins and lost one in 5 games they played.

The winners will receive Shs1M each and a plaque courtesy of main sponsors Pilsner Lager.
