The Uganda Journalists Sports Association (USPA) has revealed the outstanding personalities from different sports disciplines for the year 2021 with the pending ones to be announced soon.
The development was confirmed during a USPA monthly meeting held at Copper Chimney Restaurant in Lugogo on Monday.
For Sports personality of the year 2021, Joshua Cheptegei who clinched the 2020 Olympic gold medal in the 5000m race and 10000m silver will battle with Peruth Chemutai who became the first ever Uganda female to win an Olympic gold medal following he remarkable 3000m Steeplechase success at the Tokyo games.
10000m Olympic Bronze medallist at the Tokyo games, Jacob Kiplimo and Cricketer Dinesh Nakrani are the other nominees for the Sports personality of the year.

Meanwhile, Express FC forward Eric Kenzo Kambale has been named as male player of the year following his astonishing performances in 2021 that saw the Red Eagles clinch the league title and CECAFA Kagame Cup. Daisy Nakaziro is the female player of the year.
The outstanding personalities will be rewarded at the annual awards event at a date yet to be revealed.
