VIETNAM : Moses Oloya wins 2020 Vietnam Cup

Ugandan midfielder Moses Oloya was part of the Hanoi FC team that successfully clinched the 2020 Vietnam Cup on Sunday afternoon.

To lift the trophy, Hanoi FC overcame Viettel FC 2-1 at the My Dinh national stadium in Hanoi.

Oloya featured as a defensive midfielder and played the entire 90 minutes as Hanoi rallied from a goal down to emerge victorious.

Quang Hai Nguyen and Thai Quy Truong Van scored the two goals for Hanoi FC deep in the second half of the game.

The result also meant Hanoi successfully defend the Vietnam Cup having won a domestic double last season.

To reach the final, Hanoi beat Ho Chi Minh City 5-1 in the semi final while Viettel defeated Godfrey Baba Kizito’s Than Quang Ninh 2-1.

The Vietnam League (V.League) will officially return on Saturday 26th September having been suspended in July due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Vietnam is also a home to former Vipers captain Joseph Mpande Mbolimbo who plays for Hai Phong FC.
